Trending Now!

In an ever so changing fashion world trends come and go faster than you can even get them in your closet, but these few are here to stay (for now at least)!

Up first you guessed it…animal print! Retailers have managed to integrate every single animal (pythons, alligators cheetahs, zebras and EVEN COWS) into our wardrobes and it’s all we’re seeing this season. The trend specifically is important from a business perspective because it can be done in basically any way. As mentioned, there’s lots of different exciting prints to choose from that can be used in various different color ways in many different ways. For consumers who are a little skeptical to step out of their comfort zone, the trend can easily be introduced in more subtle ways such as small accessories before really committing to it.

Tying along to animal prints, fur has been extremely popular lately as well. Not actual fur don’t worry, but faux fur with a new spin on it. Rather than a traditional faux mink look, consumers have turned to a teddy/sherpa. This style can be bought as a light sweatshirt typically at a lower price point (this sweatshirt was only $40 at Uniqlo!), or as a heavier jacket which may entail a higher price tag. This makes it espcially appealing to businesses, because it can be produced at just about every price point by simply switching out the fabrication and detailing.

Last but not least, are chunky boots, which I’m sure you’ve already seen in the pictures above as well as on just about every single person walking the streets. Doc Martens have been making a huge comeback for years and now a lot of companies are following in their footsteps with a similar aesthetic. This type of boots give every look some edge. From a business standpoint, they’re easy to manufactuer and sell at different price points. Also, since the trend is pretty broad is allows companies to style and market them for just about any look or consumer.

  1. Hi Sidney! First off I just want to say I love your blog name and your bio, I think their both really smart and funny! Secondly, I definitely have seen a huge rise in animal print and chunky boots as well. Specifically, leopard print, just this morning I saw Kim Kardashian and Naomi Campbell post leopard print outfits. Also, when I went shopping the other day I saw so many snake print outfits. I definitely agree with you that Doc Martens have made a huge come back. I feel like walking around FIT I see so many people wearing them! I love the collage of boots that you made, their all super chic and on trend.
